Already one of the East Coast’s fastest growing concrete operators, Chaney Enterprises will nearly double its production footprint by acquiring Burlington, N.C.-based Chandler Concrete Co. Inc. The latter operates 44 ready mixed and three block plants, plus one building supply store in North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia. They align with Chaney Enterprises’ growing Virginia and North Carolina ready mixed and aggregate positions. The new Chandler Concrete, “A Member of the Chaney Family,” will continue to build on the two producers’ combined 110-plus years of industry service. Upon closing of the transaction, potentially by midyear, the businesses will span upward of 125 concrete and aggregate plants, plus aggregate and cement distribution terminals, serving markets from Maryland to North Carolina and the Atlantic Seaboard to the Appalachians.

“Chandler Concrete is a premier ready-mix business in our industry. Their culture, people, and exceptional commitment to their customers and communities are to be admired. We are honored to have the opportunity to bring these families and companies together,” says Chaney Enterprises CEO Francis Hall Chaney III. “The Chandler name is synonymous with quality, family, and community. Together, Chaney and Chandler will look to build on a continued strategy of passion, local leadership, and customer commitment in the materials business. We could not be more thankful to the Chandler family for entrusting us with their impressive business and incredible people.”

“This brings an ideal scenario for our culture, employees and customers. The future for these businesses is bright,” adds Chandler President Ted Chandler who, along with his brother Bob Chandler, vice president, oversee a 500-member company team.
